PATRICIA WELLINGHAM-JONES
Patricia Wellingham-Jones, Ph.D., R.N., is a former psychology researcher,
writer, editor, and lecturer in health and handwriting who turned
to writing short stories and poetry.
She is a three-time Pushcart Prize nominee
in poetry and winner of other awards and honors, including the Reuben
Rose International Poetry Prize in Israel. Her work has been published
in numerous print anthologies and journals and in many online publications.
Among other recent awards are first place in the SongText contest.
Her winning poem can be seen along with the music composed
by Brenda Kayne on Songs
for All. She also received a Grand Prize Surprise Slam Poetry
award in Apollo's Lyre.

and Alyssum Asylum, Poems about Gardening. Her columns on “Getting Published” in Long Story Short
and demands for writing tips led to Self-Publish Your Chapbook.
In her previous life, Wellingham-Jones was editor of Ivy
Journal of
the American Ivy Society, associate editor of American Journal
of Continuing Education in Nursing, and contributing editor of National
Association of Document Examiners Journal and Churn Magazine
of Art and Music. She offers occasional editorial consultation.
She also writes a column, “The Poet's Eye” for the East Valley
Times, in Palo Cedro, California.
Her prose non-fiction has been published in numerous garden, travel,
psychology and textile magazines including American Association of
Handwriting Analysis Dialogue, American Handwriting Analysis Foundation Journal,
Fiberarts, Flower and Garden, Garden, Journal of National Association of Document Examiners,
Pacific Horticulture, Perceptual and Motor Skills, TooWrite.com, Travelin', and
Writers' Forum. In addition, over two hundred articles were published in specialty journals during
the course of her career thus far, as were several chapters in books.
Wellingham-Jones initially developed her publishing company, PWJ Publishing, to create
niche market books in health and handwriting; those books still sell internationally.
She has written and/or published nine books/monographs in those fields,
several nursing continuing education courses, five family histories,
one book on the barns of Los Molinos, and ten volumes of poetry. PWJ
Publishing also has produced selected titles by other authors, by invitation only.
Patricia Wellingham-Jones lives with her husband Roy and their
two cats, Java and Smudge, on their creekside property in rural Northern
California. She enjoys visiting museums and art galleries, traveling,
gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.
